Hi and thank you for stopping by my site. I created this to share my passion for couponing and to help others save money.

In April 20087 I was laid off my job as an auditor. My husband was still working, but not having a 2nd income created some challenges for us. Additionally, my two children were just entering their teens.

Worrying about money is one of the worst feelings ever. So my husband and I worked on a budget which reduced our monthly spend substantially. We cut just about every corner we could. I started giving the boys and my husband haircuts. Speaking of cutting, we “cut the cord” and this was 2007 before Hulu and all the streaming services we had. The first few weeks were rough, but after the initial shock, it actually wasn’t that big of a deal.

We were still running a deficit. Our top 5 expenses where: mortgage, car payments,  insurance, food, and sports for the boys. Between eating out and grocery shopping we spent almost $1,000 a month on food. We cut back our eating out to twice a month, but we still were spending $700 month on groceries. A friend of mine suggested I started using coupons. At first, I was reluctant and thought it would be to much work, but we had to do something. So, I started small and after about 3 months of practice, I was able to cut out grocery bills in half. We did have to make some modifications to our staple meals, but for the most part, our family was happy and not hungry.

I created this site to share my knowledge of couponing and to help other who might be in a similar situation as me.

Happy couponing,

Janet
